The closing date for the popular Marsden Slow Melody Contest is looming fast — so get your entries in.

The closing date for the popular Marsden Slow Melody contest is fast approaching on Sunday 26th May.

Spring Festival chance

If you want to take part in what is becoming one of the best events around then make sure you get an entry form this weekend from the Glyn Williams Musical Instruments trade stand at the Spring Festival, whilst the last minute entrants can still get a form from Marsden players up at the All England Masters in Kettering.

New awards

There will also be a couple of new awards at the contest this year for ‘Stage Presentation’ and for the ‘Highest Placed Outsider’ – from outside the Marsden area in other words!

April 3 • We have vacancies for a trombone player and a bass player. Cleethorpes Band rehearse near the seafront on Thursday and Sunday evenings. Placed 3rd in the NOE 4th section. Other players are always welcome as we may be able to switch positions around
