Open sesame for Symphony Hall

A musical fantasy on Scheherazade will test hoping to lie their hands on the golden British Open Shield this year.

The British Open Brass Band Championships have announced that ‘Arabian Nights — Fantasy on Rimsky Korsakov’s Scheherazade for Brass Band’ by Stephen Roberts will be the test piece for the 2013 contest, which will be held at Birmingham’s Symphony Hall on Saturday September 7th.

Study scores will be available on the day of the contest.
