BBC Radio 2 ‘Young Brass Player of the Year’, and Virtuosi GUS flugel player Thomas Fountain recently accompanied his father Gary to Mississauga in Canada as guests of the Mississauga Temple Band.
Guest soloist
Thomas was the guest soloist for their annual band weekend, whilst Gary was welcomed into the band on soprano.
The headline Saturday evening concert saw the band perform their signature march, ‘Mississauga Temple’, before Thomas delivered a wonderful performance of ‘Concertino for Flugel Horn and Brass Band’.
Wowed
Thomas's also wowed the audience with ‘Concert Etude’ and ‘David of the White Rock’ as well as, ‘I Surrender All’.
The evening saw the band supported by vocal items from the Oakville Children's Choir, whist the band provided their contributions of ‘Wall of Sound’ and ‘Fire in the Blood’.
