Percussion star Gavin Pritchard is set to lead a new youth drive at Lewis Merthyr.

The Lewis Merthyr Band has announced that their Junior Band is now officially back up and running under the new name – LMB Juniors.

Build

Percussion star Gavin Pritchard has taken the opportunity to build on the excellent work of former conductor Gilbert Cook, who due to ill health has been forced to step down.

Gavin told 4BR: "Everyone would like to thank Gilbert for the amazing work he has done over the many years, and I am delighted to be able to build on that with LMB Juniors. This is something of an exciting re-launch to see how we can continue to help young players in the area."

Benefits

It is also hoped that the Lewis Merthyr Junior Band will also bring benefits to their senior band too with young players being given the opportunity to learn both Brass & Percussion.
