The return of good weather has meant that Blidworth Welfare Band has finally played their joint concert with the young performers of the Notts Performing Arts Concert Band after snow postponed the original event in March.

Potter

The concert began with the NPA Concert Band performing a variety of pieces including a medley of film tunes including a Harry Potter selection.

Blidworth Welfare took to the stage with the xylophone solo ‘Rondo all Turca’ performed by 18 year old Aaron Curcher and the breathtaking encore of ‘Flight of the Bumble Bee’.

Joint performance came with ‘Bandology’ and ‘Mars’, to conclude a fine afternoon of music making performed to a packed hall .

The band is pleased to have developed this partnership with local young musicians and is looking forward to further projects with Notts Performing Arts in the futureSam Turner
