The local community in the Cornish village of Lanner has shown great support to their band after hearing that thieves had recently caused over £800 worth of damage and stolen items from their new bandroom.
Dismayed
Lanner & District Silver Band Chariman, Lee Rouse told 4BR: "The band has almost completed building a state of the art facility so we were dismayed to learn that we had been targeted by thieves.
The whole village seems to have taken the issue personally, and, in many ways they are right to feel that it is them that are the victims of this crime as much as the band."

Donation
Project Manager, Richard Rowe, added: "A local businessman Julian Lobb of Aardvark Installation Services was so affronted that he has donated a state of the art CCTV system which was installed this weekend.
Together with additional security measures means that the building is far less attractive to thieves."
