After the success of the inaugural 'Whiston Festival of Brass & Real Ale' Day last year, organisers have informed 4BR that even more bandsmen and women, as well as plenty more beer drinkers will enjoy the event this time around.
Real Ale
Seven bands entered the first open air event in the village of Whiston, near Rotherham in South Yorkshire, which was coupled with the popular Real Ale Festival, but this year no less than 22 bands will take part on the 6th July.
Funding has also been secured this year to hold the first Junior/Training Band Section.
One place left
In fact, there is only one place left up for grabs, with event chairman Robert Brown telling 4BR that he is delighted that the attraction of great beer and brass has proven to be so popular.
Delighted
"We were delighted with the success of last year’s event," he said.
"The response this year though has been amazing. We can promise a great day out for everyone – and there cannot be a better combination than wonderful real ale and fantastic brass band music."
