Smithills School Senior Band under MD Chris Wormald are to extend their long running relationship with Bolton Wanderers Football Club next month, as they appear in a special Gala Concert for the benefit of Chairman Phil Gartside, Manager Dougie Freedman and the club’s first team squad and their families.
Musical accompaniment
The band has provided musical accompaniment to the ups and downs of the club’s on pitch fortunes since the days when the team played at the old Burnden Park, although this latest performance will take place in the swish surroundings of the Premier Suite of the state of the art Reebok Stadium.
