Harris takes on management role

Nick Harris takes on the Band Manager's role at Pleasley Colliery Band.

Nick Harris

The Pleasley Colliery Band has announced the appointment of Nick Harris as their new Band Manager with immediate effect.

Delighted

A delighted Chairman Lisa Buxton told 4BR: "Nick brings a wealth of experience after doing similar jobs at Thoresby and Carlton Main. He also brings an infectious enthusiasm to the organisational side of the band as well as the same professional approach shown with his playing on solo euphonium."

Something back

One of the last working miners still playing brass bands, Nick told 4BR: "I’ve been there and done it at the highest level, but now I’m back where it all started for me, and wanting to give something back. Pleasley were nearly down and out four years ago and now we are on the way back."

Delighted

Lisa added: "The whole band is delighted that Nick has accepted the role and we can’t wait for him to get started. Pleasley is a band on the up and that’s proved by people of Nick’s stature getting involved.

He has been a great asset to the band from the minute he joined."
