Skegness Silver braves the weather to open their season of summer concerts

In spite of the recent terrible weather, the sun shone and warmed the chilled air on Easter Sunday as Skegness Silver Band opened the summer season at the town’s Tower Gardens bandstand.

100 years of tradition

The band has been entertaining the public in Skegness and the surrounding area for over 100 years and continued the tradition with a lively programme of music directed by MD Steve Walker.

Goodbyes

The concert marked the last appearance of valued members Tony Wilkins, who is moving away from Skegness, and Sally Green, who will be studying for a Postgraduate Degree and will only be able to visit the band occasionally.
