The Scottish Brass Band Association has confirmed its arrangements for the 2013 Scottish Festival of Brass which will take place at Perth Concert Hall on the weekends of Sunday 17th, Saturday 23rd and Sunday 24th of November.
Incorporate
The event will incorporate the Scottish Youth Brass Band Championships, the Scottish Open Brass Band Championships and the 2013 Scottish Challenge Shield & Cup.
Due to the exceptional growth in the Youth Championships, this element of the festival has now been expanded and will be split across two weekends to accommodate all the entries.
New formats
On Sunday 17th November, ensembles in the Development, Percussion and Senior Sections will perform, whilst on Sunday 24th November, bands in the Preparatory, Novice and Premier Section will compete.
In a further development the Youth Championships will open both the Senior and Premier Sections to youth bands from outside Scotland to encourage visiting bands to enjoy the excitement of what has become one of the most vibrant events of its kind in the banding world.
Interested
As places are limited for these newly opened sections, any youth bands interested in entering either of these sections should contact John Gilmour as soon as possible ( johngilmour@sbba.org.uk).
