The East Riding of Yorkshire Band recently played at the Shirley Levitt Memorial Concert in Cottingham, which helped raise almost £500 for the Teenage Cancer Trust.
Celebrates
The event celebrates the life of Shirley Levitt who sadly passed away last year, and who played in brass bands in the Humberside area for about 50 years. Shirley was playing with the East Riding of Yorkshire Band until a few weeks before her death.
Fine occasion
A few days later the band enjoyed another fine occasion when they qualified for the National Finals at Cheltenham after coming runner-up in the Third Section of the North of England Regional Championships in Darlington.
