Brighouse & Rastrick is getting ready for their Yorkshire Regional Championship appearance boosted by support from their latest set of fans – all the way from Italy.
Fervent
A fervent group of supporters has made its way to West Riding to cheer on the former National champions as they seek to regain their Yorkshire title on Philip Sparke’s ‘Hamony Music’ – or ‘Armonia Musica’ as their new supporters call it.
The group became instant fans following the band’s performances in Italy late last year under the baton of Professor David King, and have made the long journey to see them in contest action at St George’s Hall on Sunday.
Confident
And they are confident that the band will win too – especially as they have been told that the MD has won more first prizes on Philip Sparke’s music than any other conductor at the contest – including two European titles and two Norwegian National Championships – including the latest of his nine in Bergen just a few weeks ago.
Welcome
The band has offered a warm welcome to their new found fans – especially at their rehearsals at their Finkil Street headquarters, which will be full this Saturday at their final rehearsal with accents from Bradford to Bari, Manchester to Milan!

Celebrate
A band spokesperson told 4BR: "We are delighted to welcome our wonderful supporters from Italy – and we hope they will be able to return home with something to celebrate.
It shows that Brighouse & Rastrick’s popularity is now so widespread that we have international supporters and patrons in many European countries as well as North America and Australasia."
