The North of England Fourth Section contenders returns to the North of England Regional contest boosted by new players.

Fourth Section North of England challengers North Skelton Band has announced the signing of cornet player Rachel Hartley and ex-orchestral tuba player Chris Gorman

North Skelton returned to contesting this year after a three year break rebuilding the band and has told 4BR that they are looking forward to playing Eric Ball’s 'Devon Fantasy' under conductor Denis Noble.

Band spokesperson Josie Coupland told 4BR: "The band is hoping to build on recent good form after winning the Durham Brass Band Association contest playing Dean Goffin’s 'Rhapsody in Brass' as well as claiming prizes for 'Best Euphonium', 'Best Trombone' and 'Bass Section'."
