The Huddersfield & Ripponden Band has announced that the highly respected conductor, David W Ashworth, will be crossing the banding borders from the Red of Lancashire to the White of Yorkshire to lead the band at the Yorkshire Regional Championships at Bradford in two weeks time.

Wealth of experience

Band Manager Alan Jazwinski told 4BR: "David has a wealth of experience and I am sure that he will do his best to make us proud."

The band acted quickly to contact Dave following the news that their former MD could not take the band to the contest.

Alan added: "We were all disappointed about what had happened but David's appointment has enthused the band and, with help from our many friends, we will all be working very hard to prepare for the forthcoming Area contest."
