Coalburn Silver Band has announced the appointment of Kyle MacCorquodale as the Musical Director of their newly formed Intermediate Band.

Rising stars

One of the rising stars of Scottish brass, Kyle started playing accordion at the age of 5, but has since gone on to develop a successful career as a trombonist.

He gained a place in the Royal Junior Conservatoire and plans to attend University to continue his musical education and to hopefully make a full time career in music.

Kyle told 4BR: "I’m delighted to have been given the position of Musical Director for the new Intermediate Band and hope to develop my skills at conducting as the band progresses through its no doubt successful future."

Band President Alan Court added: "We are thrilled to have appointed Kyle as the MD of our new band and look forward to establishing and developing this third tier in the Coalburn organisation."
