4BR is out on the road today to bring you live action and up to date reports from two leading banding events.

UniBrass

Our first port of call is the UniBrass National Championships at Lancaster University, where a host of top university and conservatoire bands from around the country will battle it out to see who claims the all important student brass band bragging rights.

Malcolm Wood will be providing live coverage of the performances throughout the day, which you can also enjoy by going to: www.unibrass.co.uk or www.la1tv.lusu.co.uk

Welsh Open

Meanwhile, 4BR will also be at the Welsh Open in Porthcawl to soak up the atmosphere and enjoy the entertainment action as reigning champions Tredegar look to make it four wins in a row under MD Ian Porthouse and repel the challenge of a host of domestic and English rivals.

Event organiser Rob Gowing told 4BR: "The Welsh Open continues to provide a popular and exciting day of brass band entertainment at a lovely venue with excellent facilities for both bands and listeners.

We have enjoyed growing support from the Welsh banding public and I am sure we will have another day of top class entertainment."

So if you are either in or around Lancaster or Porthcawl, why not pop along and enjoy the action yourselves4BR
