Lancashire Contests have informed 4BR that they have secured support and sponsorship to run the popular Tameside Open Contest in March.

The own choice event will take place at Dukinfield Town Hall on the 24th March with generous prize money on offer for podium finishers in each of the Championship/First, Second, Third and Fourth Section events.

A spokesperson told 4BR: "It is great news for banding in the North West that we have been able to gain the support of Tameside Council once again – especially at a time when difficult financial decisions are being made.

It shows just how important a contest such as the Tameside Open is and we hope that the bands will show it themselves by supporting the event."
