The Blackley Band, based in north Manchester, have announced the appointment of their new MD Dan Price.
Delighted
An internationally renowned composer will take over the baton with immediate effect.
Dan told 4BR: "I’m delighted to take on the partnership with this forward thinking band. The band have always maintained a good relationship with their community and are an important part of their local heritage."
He added: "They are committed to youth development through programmes such as the commissioning of new music and is supporting the necessary evolution of the movement. It is my intention to focus on this ethos and continue to work on their development and consistency in both the concert and contest arenas."

A spokesman for the band said: "We are pleased to welcome Dan back to the band and look forward to progressing under his direction in the future.
There are lots of exciting projects in the pipeline for the coming months and we are confident he can continue to improve our concert performances and transfer those on to the contest stages."
