In which year did the Miner’s Strike take place that led to the Prime Minister pose the infamous question, ‘Who Governs Britain?’ at the General Election?4BR
Clues
It was the year that Scotland didn’t lose a game in the football World Cup Finals and still went out, there was an unprecedented tie for first place between Cory and Grimethorpe at the Mineworkers Championship at Blackpool and a certain ‘Tricky Dicky’ (not Richard Evans) was forced to resign from his job.
By the way – the Prime Minister in question once conducted a brass band on a LP recording.
Closing date:
All answers for this one must be in by midnight on Sunday 20th January.
Monday Winner
We had a great response to last week’s quiz, with Steve Coad who plays euphonium with Lanner & District Band in Cornwall knowing that the old 1831 London Bridge now spans the Bridgewater Canal in the US state of Arizona.
He gets his hands on three cracking releases—including Jewels’ by Eminence Brass, Brett Baker’s ‘World of the Trombone Volume — 3’ and a bit of the best London’s pride with Aveley & Newham.
