There is a great New Year CD selection box prize from 4BR – as long as you can get your thinking caps on?

5 CDs

We have dipped into our New Year’s Sales stocking and come up with a selection box of five releases – including two 4BR CD of the Year nominees in Steven Mead’s, ‘Diamonds’ and Black Dyke’s ‘Pictures’, a little cracker from Jackfield Elcock Reisen called ‘Feeling Good’, a World of Brass double CD selection ‘WOB11’ and a bit of Acid Brass ‘in yer face’ from Fairey.

Quiz Question:

Still on the prize money theme.

In which year did Pontins first pay out a top prize of £1,000 for the winners of the Championship Section Finals in Prestatyn?

A: 1977
B: 1986
C: 1995

Clues

The only clues this time are that it was the year that registration cards were scrapped by the Leicestershire Brass Band Association, there was a coalition government in the UK and a Briton won a Grand Slam tennis title.

Some things don’t change then...

New Year’s Day winner

We had a great response to our New Year’s Day quiz, with Ray and Shirley Stuttard from Tamworth remembering that 1965 was the year in which the National Championships of Great Britain last paid out the first prize in old fashioned pre-decimal Guineas.
