The Fairey Band has announced the appointment of Garry Cutt as their new Professional Conductor.

Immediate

The vastly experienced former Grimethorpe and Foden’s MD joins the Stockport band with immediate effect.

Fairey spokesperson Martin Gernon told 4BR: "Garry has a long pedigree in contest success both in the UK and Europe, and joins a band very close to his heart."

Look forward

Commenting on his appointment Garry added: "I have had a long association and deep affection for Faireys, and working with the band on various projects over the last few years has only strengthened this. I now look forward to a long and mutually successful relationship with the band."

He added: "There are few bands with the heritage and history of Faireys and it is an honour to be appointed to this role."

Greater consistency

He concluded: "The band wish to publicly thank Russell Gray for his substantial efforts over the last three years, resulting in some excellent performances with the band, and wish him and his family every future success."
