The organiser of the recent International Brass Band Contest in Belgium has informed 4BR that competing bands will be sent further post contest information as requested following the event, ‘in the next few days’.

Chaotic

Although the contest did go ahead as planned, concerns were raised over the somewhat chaotic organisation of certain aspects of the weekend at the Lemmensinstituut in Leuven.

A number of conductors expressed their disappointment with the sparse audience numbers, with some bands playing to less than 30 people in the auditorium on both the Saturday and Sunday. The audience for the Gala Concerts was also reported to be very low too.
