Being able to play with Brighouse & Rastrick comes at a price it seems — for the band that is – with the news that the Yorkshire band has had to declare a uniform amnesty after finding that stocks of their world famous purple jackets are beginning to run low.
Walked away
In addition, ‘walking outs’ have ‘walked away’ too, whilst even a few of the magnificent Whit Friday high collar tunics may be hiding at the back of a forgetful player’s cupboard somewhere.
Band President Paul Beaumont told 4BR: "Unfortunately, quite a few of our famous purple stage jackets, blazers, stage trousers, grey slacks and even some Whit Friday tunics haven’t been returned to us after guest players have depped with us."
Cupboards
He added ruefully: "Perhaps they are a prized memento but they are hardly the sort of thing you could wear to work or around the house!
We know players are forgetful at times, but if they look in the back of their cupboards or under the stairs and find one, we would be grateful if they could be returned!"
As long as we get them back we will be delighted. If you have got a Brighouse jacket, trousers or tunic then get in touch and we will sort out its repatriation to West Riding!Paul Beaumont
Amnesty
Paul stated that the amnesty means that a no questions asked approach will now be implemented and that all that is required is for players to get in touch and collection will be sorted out.
