The various draws for the forthcoming Scottish Open, Shield, Cup and Youth Championships were made at the recent Scottish Brass Band Association Conference in Stirling.

Amazing line up

The contests take place at Perth Concert Hall over the weekends of the 24th/25th November and the 2nd December, with an amazing line up of musical talent on show for the Youth Championships with 45 different ensembles taking part.

Despite the absence of 2012 champion Tongwynlais Temperance and former winners Whitburn, there is a strong international field of 18 contenders hoping to impress adjudicators Steven Mead, Tom Brevik and Ray Farr with their own choice selections to claim the Scottish Open title.

International field

Fresh from their top six finish at the Royal Albert Hall, Scottish champion Co-operative Funeralcare under Black Dyke MD Dr Nicholas Childs will lead the seven home bands against no less than nine English contenders from the North of England, North West, Yorkshire and London, as well as Welsh challengers Northop Sliver and Norwegian contender Tertnes.
