Advert: Sterling Musical Instruments

Soaring demand as Sterling provides double champions with the best instruments to create history.

Richard Poole

Foden’s historic ‘Double’ success has seen demand for the instruments the star players of the Sandbach band play on soar, according to Paul Riggett of Sterling Instruments.

Amazing

"It’s been amazing," he told 4BR. "The Sterling Virtuoso Euphonium has led the way of course, as it has been used with such success by both Brighouse & Rastrick and Foden’s players such as David Thornton and Glyn Williams.

That has also led to increased demand for the Virtuoso baritone and horns – and now we are getting inundated with enquiries about the fabulous Virtuoso soprano too."

Soprano prize

Paul believes that the prize winning performances of players such as Foden’s soprano star Richard Poole, who was awarded the ‘Best Instrumentalist’ for his part in Foden’s claim the historic double at the Royal Albert Hall, has been significant.

"The top players always want to have the best instruments to perform on, and so do the players who want to emulate them.

Richard’s brilliance playing the Virtuoso soprano is well known now, and with other players noticing the great sound, the warmth of tone and the excellent intonation, they want to get their hands on one too."

Proof

He added: "Everyone at Sterling Instruments congratulates Foden's Band on their remarkable achievement. It shows that you can’t beat the proof of hearing the best players playing on the best instruments – and you can’t get better than being able to provide the historic ‘Double’ champions with their euphoniums, baritones, horns and soprano."
