The Levern Valley Community Brass Band will be looking to gain plenty of advice and top tips from the members of the current Scottish Champion Band, Co-operative Funeralcare when led by Dr Nicholas Childs they lead an open workshop afternoon with them on 10th November.
Looking forward
MD Brian Deans is certainly looking forward to welcoming the band, especially following its recent successes at both the British Open and National Finals in London.
"We are all looking forward to being able to welcome Dr Childs and the band to Levern Valley Community Brass," he said.
"We have organized an open workshop where we hope players both young and old will come along and join us to gain invaluable advice and tips from a brilliant band and their brilliant players.
Dr Childs is well known for his work with the National Children’s Band of Great Britain and his involvement in the Yorkshire Youth Brass Band in association with Black Dyke. This is a tremendous opportunity for a Scottish audience to see and hear him work with a youth band."
