Early Xmas prezzie at Hebden Bridge

Someone has got an early Christmas present at Hebden Bridge.

Hebden Bridge in action

There has been an early Christmas present at Hebden Bridge Band this year with the news that their bass trombonist Gareth Davis has had his music published for the first time.

Xmas music

After being played previously by Hebden Bridge in concerts to great acclaim, two Christmas pieces, ‘The Wondrous Gift’ and ‘When Wise Men Came Seeking’, were selected for publication by Kirklees Music as well as an original samba style piece, ‘It’s That Time Again!!!’

Gareth, 25, is a qualified music teacher and hopes that this will be the first of many pieces that become known in the public domain and it is his aim to one day write a lengthier work that is selected as a test piece for a contest.

Opportunity

He told 4BR: "I have to thank the band for the generosity they show in giving my music the opportunity to be heard, alongside the support of many fellow composers who are always keen to give help when required."
