Tabby Clegg, MD of the Slaithwaite Band recently took to the streets of London with best friend and horn player Kathryn Firth to join thousands of people in the SHINE London Walking Marathon to raise money for Cancer Research.

"Completing the marathon was probably the greatest physical and mental challenge I’ve ever encountered, made harder by the fact we didn’t start until after 9pm at night and it went on into the early hours of the morning!" said Tabby.

We managed to finish in a fairly fast time and I was delighted to be informed at 23 miles by one of the marshals that there were approximately 4,500 people behind us!Tabby Clegg

She added: "It was amazing though and for a great cause, and Kathryn and I raised hundreds of pounds so thank you to everyone who sponsored us.
