Llwydcoed opt for Welsh experience

National Finalists to work with the experienced conducting team of Nigel Seaman and Tom Davoren for Cheltenham and Fishguard.

Llwydcoed

The Llwydcoed Band has acted swiftly to fill their conducting vacancy ahead of their appearances at the National Finals in Cheltenham and the Welsh League contest in Fishguard.

Seaman and Davoren

The vastly experienced Nigel Seaman will take the helm for both contest appearances and will be assisted in preparation by former BTM MD, Tom Davoren.

Band Chairman Kevin Johnson told 4BR: "The band is delighted at this latest development and we look forward to working with Nigel and Tom during the next few weeks. Both conductors have a wealth of experience to help take the band forward."

He added: "Nigel will undertake the preparations in the lead up to the contest as well as taking the band on stage. He will also take the band in Fishguard and its forthcoming CD recording. Tom will be leading rehearsals, covering for Nigel while he fulfils his other commitments."

Splendid job

On his appointment, Nigel told 4BR: "Firstly I would like to pay tribute to Gary Davies who has done a splendid job with the band and trained them so well.

I’m looking forward to working on the test piece ‘Academic Festival Overture’ as its one I’ve enjoyed playing many times in my orchestral career."
