Newly crowned British Open champions Foden’s are slowly but surely recovering from their celebrations following their triumph at Symphony Hall in Birmingham on the weekend.
Banding world
Foden's have been inundated with messages of congratulations from all over the banding world after their performance of Martin Ellerby’s test piece ‘Electra’ gave them their third win at the contest in nine years.
Thanks
Principal cornet Mark Wilkinson told 4BR: "Everyone at Foden’s would like to thank the hundreds of supporters, fellow bands people and bands from this country and abroad for their messages of congratulations following the British Open.
The band would like to take the opportunity to congratulate Allan Withington on his first British Open title and thank our Musical Director Mike Fowles for all his hard work in preparing the band for the contest. We are privileged to have such a great conducting team at Foden’s."
Double
He added: "The band are over the moon with the victory and will be working extra hard to try and make it a ‘Double’ at the Royal Albert Hall."
