4BR has been informed that one of the longest conducting tenures in top flight Championship Section banding has come to an end, with news that after 14 years, Nigel Taken and Aveley & Newham Band have parted company.

Victories

During his time at the helm of the London based band, he led them to three regional contest victories, appearing at the National Finals at the Royal Albert Hall on ten occasions, and the British Open twice.

Nigel also led the band to success in the Grand Shield and Yeovil Entertainment Contest, as well as gaining the Butlins Entertainment prize and being placed runner up at the French Open.

Under his leadership the band appeared every year at the All England International Masters Contest.
