The Horsham Borough Band has announced the appointment of their new MD, Andy Kershaw.

The band will immediately begin work with Andy in rehearsing for the scaba Autumn Contest at Crawley on 30th September.

Successful debut

Andy initially stepped in as guest MD at the scaba Spring Contest and got off to a flying start by leading Horsham to victory. He recently made his concert debut with the band at Brighton Pavilion Gardens.

Rapport

"Andy has very quickly developed a rapport with us and we are looking forward to seeing the band progress under his baton," Secretary, Kay Clarke told 4BR.

Andy meanwhile added: "I’m looking forward to starting the hard graft with the band as we prepare for the SCABA autumn contest."

Thanks

The band also took the opportunity to thank Glenton Bacon, one of their cornet players, who took the band over the summer months whilst in the process of finding a new MD.
