The organisers of the popular Fleetwood Open Brass Band Championships have informed bands wishing to compete in the contest that they are the latest contest to opt out of using the British Brass Band Registry.

A spokesperson told 4BR: "Due to the ongoing situation at the British Brass Band Registry affecting bands and contests, Lancashire Contests wish to inform the bands that have entered, or are wishing to enter the Fleetwood Open Brass Band Championships, that the contest will not use the British Brass Band Registry (BBBR) for this year’s contest."

The Championships will take place on Sunday 7th October at Marine Hall, The Esplanade, Fleetwood, Lancashire, FY7 6HF.
