The BTM Band has announced that principal euphonium Ben Wright is to leave the Welsh outfit following the completion of his studies at the Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama. He will be returning back home to study for his PGCE.

Loyal

A spokesperson told 4BR: "Ben has been a loyal servant to us whilst completing his studies, and has played superbly on the end seat. We would like to wish him all the best in his bright future, and would like to thank him for all the hard work and commitment he has given to BTM."

I've got some great memories from my time here and wish the band every success in the futureBen Wright

Great band

Ben told 4BR: "I've played for BTM all the way through college, and I'm really sad to be leaving to move home to Rochdale to study for my PGCE. It's been a great band to play with especially playing at some fantastic venues such as St David’s Hall and Symphony Hall, and working with some great musicians."

He added: "I'd like to thank everyone for the opportunities they've given me, but pay a special thanks to Mark and Jeff Hutcherson and Tom Davoren for the faith they showed in me over the last four years. I've got some great memories from my time here and wish the band every success in the future."
