The new Shrewsbury Brass Band is celebrating after receiving several grants to the tune of £5,500.

Shrewsbury Round Table, Shropshire Community Projects, Shrewsbury Town Mayor and Greenhouse Vauxhall have donated funds to the 30 strong band, who had originally set a target of £5000 to help meet the costs of new ties, blazers, stand banners and the development of a Training Band.

Good causes

Since their formation in April last year the band has performed at three concerts raising nearly £3000 for good causes and recently appeared at the Ironbridge Festival of Brass under the baton of Steve Pritchard-Jones.
