Lanner & District Silver Band will say goodbye to their solo baritone player, Georgie Evans, who has left the band to join British Open champions Cory.

Musical Director, Stuart Chappell told 4BR: "We knew that we would be losing Georgie at the end of this summer as she has had several offers to go to music collage. However, when she received the offer from Cory, the move away from her native Cornwall was brought forward by a couple of months.

She will certainly be a big loss but it has been a real pleasure to see her develop over the years to become an exceptionally good baritone player."

Come back

Georgie herself added: "I would love to come back and play with the band whenever I’m in Cornwall, even if my feet don’t touch the ground in the next few months."

The Lanner Band will certainly not lose contact with Georgie as her Mum and two sisters are all playing members.
