Knighton youngsters enjoy relay work

The talented young players of Knighton Town Training Band certainly enjoyed their bit of relay work recently.

The Knighton Town Training Band recently performed their annual concert in their Mid Wales home town packed with 37 youngsters aged between 5 and 12.

Blue Relay

The band also performed the Blue Relay music to ‘Going the Distance’ and all the children had plenty of fun.

The baton was bought onto the stage in its own little relay by the band’s youngest members – Lewis Bevan (6) and Sydney Murray-Sales, Chloe Hall, Tommy Huffer and Zinnie Neary all aged 5, before being carried off by eldest member, Holly Price aged 12.

It was a wonderful event with plenty of support from the parents to the children. We are now hoping to enter the Foden’s competition in November.MD Cath Mellings

Raising funds

The concert raised £300 and has enabled the band to purchase two further student instruments.

MD Cath Mellings told 4BR: "It was a wonderful event with plenty of support from the parents to the children. We are now hoping to enter the Foden’s competition in November."
