We had a great response to our latest 4BR quiz, with one lucky winner getting their hands on a brilliant student model Mirage tenor horn thanks to our friends at Dawsons Music.

Answer

The little bit of technical knowledge you needed to know correctly was that Monel steel valves are used on the Mirage student tenor horn.

The Mirage HSD730 is proving to be one of the very best student tenor horns on the market, and offers the aspiring young player just the right instrument to develop their playing skills on.

There is a really vibrant brass band community on the Isle of Man with so many youngsters wanting to learn to play brass instruments. Thanks to Dawsons this instrument will be well loved and well used I can assure you!Jennifer Cook

Delighted winner

The winner was Jennifer Cook from the Isle of Man, who was understandably delighted when we got in contact with the news.

"Brilliant! As a peripatetic music teacher on the island the instrument will be earmarked for a very lucky young player."

Jennifer added: "There is a really vibrant brass band community on the Isle of Man with so many youngsters wanting to learn to play brass instruments. Thanks to Dawsons this instrument will be well loved and well used I can assure you!"

Perfect instrument

Dawsons Sales Director Gary Bond told 4BR: "We are delighted that a great prize will find a great home. The Mirage is the perfect instrument for a young player and we are sure the lucky recipient will enjoy every minute playing on it."
