As part of their innovative ‘Music in the Community’ scheme, Blidworth Welfare Band gave a concert at their town library on behalf of the local history society.

Sextet

The band provided a sextet who gave a short recital of pieces along with a talk about the development of brass banding in the area and of the history of Blidworth Welfare Band in particular.

Proactive

Band Manager Karen Cretney told 4BR: "The local library has been very proactive in encouraging local groups and have given over a section of their valuable space to feature a collage of band photographs and newspaper cuttings to promote the band.
