The West Midlands Divisional Fellowship Band of the Salvation Army visited Ilmington on the fringe of the Cotswolds recently as part of their ongoing series of concerts throughout their area.
Harvest pieces
An appreciative audience were presented with a varied programme under the baton of Bandmaster Charles King, including three Harvest pieces of music which reflected the work of the local corps Stratford upon Avon at harvest time and the immediate area in years gone by.
Shipston ensemble
The band had invited the young cornet ensemble from local band Shipston Town to appear as guest soloists and they acquitted themselves excellently in their performance of 'Don’t Sit Under The Apple Tree' — with a deserved repeat encore too!
Ewan Parsons, John Bosley, Luke Barker and Megan Barker (pictured) aged 9 to 11, gave a performance which belied their years.
