Smithills honoured by Bolton Wanderers

Smithills shine a top class musical light on the Reebok stadium, despite the football team's relegation.

Owen Coyle meets Smithills Band

Smithills School Senior Band under MD Chris Wormald recently fulfilled their fifth and final Bolton Wanderers FC engagement of this season when they performed at the Reebok Stadium for the club’s annual service of remembrance.

Thanks

Manager Owen Coyle thanked the band hugely for playing before the matches with Liverpool, Arsenal and Aston Villa, and for the club’s official Christmas Carol Concert in December.

It was a magnificent effort of support from the band as the team just failed to retain its Premiership status.

Recovery

Meanwhile, Chairman Phil Gartside also spoke movingly about the ongoing progress of footballer Fabrice Muamba, who collapsed during a game with Spurs, but who is now making a remarkable recovery.

After the event, Owen Coyle was delighted to spend time with all of the Smithills band members and have his photograph taken.
