Shrewsbury add funds to Mayor's Appeal

The new Shrewsbury Band has already been giving a helping hand to a good cause or two.

The inaugural concert by Shrewsbury Brass Band conducted by Steve Pritchard-Jones recently took place at their local St Chad’s Church and raised over £1000 for the Mayors Charity Fund.

Performing to over 300 people the band included in their programme ‘Brass Ablaze’,‘Theme to the 49th Parallel’, ‘Joy, Peace and Happiness’ and ‘Elsa’s Procession to the Minster’.

Impressed

The Mayor was so impressed with the band he pledged a large donation to band funds to enable the band to purchase stand banners and walking out jackets. The band was also grateful to Shrewsbury Round Table who donated £550 for the purchase of new ties.
