Regency expansion

Regent Brass set to expand with creation of new B Band

Regent Brass

Regent Brass is set to expand their organisation next month, with the launch of their new ‘B’ band.

Musical Director Alan Duguid told 4BR: "After a great deal of discussion about ways to encourage brass playing within central London, we decided to establish another band under the Regent banner."

Opportunity

He added: "Regent Brass itself started life as a youth band linked to the Brent Music Service, so this presents a fantastic opportunity for us to provide an outlet for brass musicians young and old to get involved in playing in a local band."

The band itself will rehearse once a week and is open to anyone who is interested in playing, whether an experienced brass musician or someone who perhaps has had a significant break and wants to get back into it.

Pleasure

Alan continued: "I'm hopeful this will help provide an environment for people to enjoy playing without the pressures of heavy contesting and to participate in a light contest schedule to give players a real feel for how rewarding being involved in a band can be."

Rehearsals

The band will rehearse on Thursday evenings from 7-8pm in the Church of the Ascension, Wembley, HA9 9QL.
