Raise the banners high!

The Grenadier Guards Big Band help raise the new Staines banners high....

Staines Brass Band and new banners

Over 200 concert goers packed into St Peter’s Church in Staines recently for a special St. George’s Day Concert by their local band.

Thanks

The concert featured the Grenadier Guards Big Band and was in aid of the Colonel’s Fund Grenadier Guards, whilst it also gave Staines the early opportunity to thank their supporters following their recent qualification for the National Finals in London later this year.

The people of Spelthorne can be justifiably proud of this musical gem which we have right on our doorstep – it’s been a truly uplifting evening. We wish the band well at the Royal Albert HallLocal Mayor Sam Budd

Musical gem

Local Mayor Sam Budd told 4BR: "The people of Spelthorne can be justifiably proud of this musical gem which we have right on our doorstep – it’s been a truly uplifting evening. We wish the band well at the Royal Albert Hall."

The band’s newly designed music stand drapes had their first outing at Friday’s concert and seemed in perfect company among those of the Guards Band.
