Marshall set for cornet spotlight

Black Dyke's star principal cornet will lead his cornet spotlight at Leeds in May.

Marshall

Richard Marshall has told 4BR that he is hoping to welcome yet another huge batch of cornet players to his 2012 'Cornet Spotlight'.

New commission

This year's event will be held at Leeds Town Hall on Sunday 20th May, and will feature a brand new cornet ensemble commission by Christopher Bond, who is studying composition at the RWCMD.

Bonus

An added bonus will see Richard perform a short recital, accompanied by Matthew Routley, before the event concludes with a massed performance.

The event will also feature the popular question and answer session which will give delegates the chance to ask questions of the Black Dyke cornet section.

The cost per delegate is just £5.00, and all Richard asks is that people bring along your instrument, stand and a pencil!
