The CD features a series of recordings made by the renowned ensemble at Blackheath Concert Halls in London in 1990.

It features the remarkable Elgar Howarth arrangement of Mussorgsky's 'Pictures at an Exhibition', as well as Wiltshire's arrangement of his 'St John's Night on the Bare Mountain' and John Miller's arrangement of 'Adagio' of 'Phrygia' from 'Spartacus' by Khachaturian.

A collection Malcolm Arnold compositions featuring his 'Guitar Concerto' played by Eduardo Fernandez and the English Chamber Orchestra from 1989, as well as his twin sets of 'English Dances' conducted by Sir Adrian Boult and the LPO in 1954.

There is also his 'Symphony for Brass Instruments' directed by Howard Snell from 1979, and his 'Brass Quintet No.1' played by the Philip Jones Brass Ensemble recorded in 1979 under the founder.

Music from one of the great figures of 20th century British classical music.

Features his 'Fanfare for Brass' recorded in 1977 by the Philip Jones Brass Ensemble, as well as a LSO performance under Sir Colin Davis of his 'Suite in D for the Birthday of Prince Charles' and a trio of works ('Little Music'; 'Concerto for Double String Orchestra' and 'Fantasia Concertante on a Theme of Corelli' recorded in 1970 at St Martin in the Fields under Sir Neville Marriner.
