Knottingley Silver Band has announced the death of Band President Brian Pollard.
Life
Band Chairman, Steve Clayton told 4BR: “Brian was a huge servant to the band for the whole of his life, first as principal cornet and then as Bandmaster for 30 years. He taught many Knottingley players generously giving his time freely to all.”
Greatly missed
He added: "The band was very successful under his stewardship, winning many contests and taking part in numerous events. His proudest moments were winning the Yorkshire Area twice, then being able to represent Yorkshire at the National finals. He will be greatly missed."
Funeral
The funeral is to be held on Thursday 29th March at 9.00am at Ferrybridge church.
