Recently crowned Yorkshire Third Section champion Elland Silver recently presented its own versions of the Oscars at their presentation dinner.

Members, supporters, families and friends enjoyed a three course meal before Chairman Peter Greenleaf led the presentations.

In recognition of the bands winning performance of ‘Olympus’ in Bradford, Peter presented James Shepherd and all the band members with appropriately engraved gold medals.

Awards

The awards themselves saw the ‘Most Promising Newcomer’ go to Eb bass player Robert Wood, and the ‘Most Improved Player under 18’ was won by 2nd cornet player Bethan Plant.

The ‘Most Improved Player over 18’ was Eb bass player Ben Clapham, whilst ‘Band Person of the Year’ was principal cornet Samantha Harrison. The ‘Player of the Year’, voted for by band members went to solo horn player David Armitage.
