4BR has been informed of the death of Bram Thompson. He was aged 90 and died peacefully following a short illness.
Bram Thompson was a highly regarded solo horn player with SCWS Band (the former Scottish Co-op Band) until moving to London in the 1960s.
He later became an influential figure in the organisation of the National Brass Band Championships along with E. Vaughan Morris.

The funeral service will be held on Wednesday 21st March 2012 at 2.00pm at Christchurch ( also known as Newmarket Methodist Church )
